Warriors start 3-0
The 2020 Elizabeth Forward Warriors have opened their season with 3 consecutive shutout section wins. The Warriors opened the season on September 16th on the road against the East Allegheny Wildcats. The game was dominated from start to finish by the Warriors who had 12 shots and 6 on goal in the first half but couldnt find the back of the net. The Warriors opened the scoring in the 54th minute of a goal by Robbie Hrabosky (1st career goal) who was assisted by Donvan Woytsek. The game was put way in the final two minutes when Robbie Hrabosky found Andrew Smith for the 2nd Goal. Austin Onofrey recorded one save in the shutout
The Warriors hosted new section foe, the Avonworth Antelopes on Saturday September 19th for their home opener. Warriors once again dominated the game from start to finish. Robbie Hrabosky netted the only goal in the first half. The second half started with a barrage of goals where the they scored 3 goals in the first four minutes to put the game away. Goals were scored by Anthony Valerio who netted his first Varsity goal, while Hrabosky connected with two consecutive goals to completed his hat trick. Insurance goals were added late in the 2nd half by Ethan Bowser and Donovan Woytsek
September 21st saw the Warriors travel to take on the Steel Valley Ironmen where we were treated with another great game at Campbell field. In a back in forth affair neither team could gain control of the game. Senior goalkeeper Austin Onofrey made some huge saves to help secure his third straight clean sheet while the Warriors got the win off and last minute goal by Andrew Smith off a counter attack.
